El Nido - Puerto Princesa

Our third visit to Palawan, this time visiting El Nido...I think the hardest one to go to because of a 5- to 6-hour land transpo through rough road. There is a direct flight but it is way much expensive. We took a flight going to Puerto Princesa, then hired a van going to El Nido. We reached the town almost midnight that we just took whatever room we can get. We first stayed at Lally and Abet. Our room had a HUGE spider, the window, for whatever reason, was making a noise, and the aircon was dripping inside...that I was not able to sleep after almost one-day travel! The next day I really asked Osh to change hotel or just the room. We transferred to El Nido Beach Hotel just next to Lally's despite of big rate difference because of wi-fi availability as he needs to submit documents to Smart but to Osh's dismay, the connection was very poor! We even had to go out of the room to connect to internet!

Oh well, basically, what you will see in El Nido are lots and lots of beautiful islands and clean and clear beaches! We spent one whole day island hopping, snorkeling, and swimming!

Sea Urchins! Of course, you cannot swim in this island unless you want to be stung!

Stopover for lunch

Small Lagoon

After 2 days at El Nido, we transferred back to Puerto Princesa. Osh and I have been there (in fact, that is our first out of town) but his 2 friends wanted to go there also. After another 6-hour travel, we went straight to city tour.

Crocodile Farm

Bearcat

Ostrich!

We did not finish the city tour because the rest of the sites are already closed since it is already late.

We wanted to eat seafoods at Ka Lui's...said to be the #1 seafood resto there...but it was close that day so we just went to a nearby resto that we cannot remember the name as it was difficult to pronounce! There, we saw this electric tricycle that looks like a UFO with lights almost all over the body! Unfortunately, the camera did not capture the lights!

The next day, we went to visit Underground River.

Big waves welcome you here.

You need to wear helmets as you might hit sharp stones/stalactite and, also, to shelter you from the bats' pee!

The mushrooms!

There are many stone formations here that play your imagination! This one is said to be the puso ng saging!
There is a place called Cathedral because there are what formed to be a Mama Mary, praying people, the Holy Family, and a big candle. Unfortunately, we were not able to take pictures of them as it was very, very dark and very high that a single flashlight or the camera flash won't help.
They said the natives drew this cross there to ward off evil spirits.

Bayawak!

After Underground River, we proceeded on through the rest of the city tour!

Mitra's Ranch

Badjao Handweaving Center

Puero Princesa Baywalk

That night, we attempted to eat at Ka Lui's again but, I don't know why nobody told us, it was for reservations only! So, the tricycle driver just recommended and took us to Badjao Seafront which is really good also! Very good food and ambiance and cheap!

The next time you come here, let us all visit Palawan! Libre nyo kame! Wahahah!
